Today, we’re making a passion fruit drink that’s tangy, sweet, and incredibly refreshing. This drink not only tastes amazing but also helps us feel energized and ready for the day.
Passion fruit, also called egg fruit or West tropical passion fruit, is packed with nutrients and natural goodness. We’ll turn this vibrant fruit into a delicious drink that’s perfect for any moment of the day.

What We Need?

To make this drink, we only need two main ingredients:
- Passion fruits: 5 pounds (about 10–12 medium fruits)
- Rock sugar: 1–2 pounds (adjust to taste)
We also need:
- A clean, dry glass jar with a tight lid
- A spoon for scooping the pulp
- Warm water for serving
This drink is simple to make but gives us a flavorful, refreshing treat.

Step 1: Wash the Passion Fruits

Start by washing the passion fruits thoroughly under running water to remove any dust or dirt. We want the fruit clean and ready for preparation.

Step 2: Cut the Fruits

Carefully cut each passion fruit in half. The inside should be juicy, with a mixture of seeds and pulp. The smell is already tangy and inviting!

Step 3: Prepare the Glass Jar

Make sure the glass jar is completely dry and free of oil or water. This will prevent the sugar from clumping and ensure the fruit mixes well over time.

Step 4: Add the Rock Sugar

Pour all the rock sugar into the glass jar. If we prefer a less sweet version, we can reduce the sugar to 0.5–1 pound.

Step 5: Scoop the Fruit Pulp

Use a spoon to scrape out all the pulp and seeds from each passion fruit half and add it to the jar. Continue until all fruits are used. The jar should now be filled with layers of pulp and sugar.

Step 6: Mix Gently

Gently stir the mixture in the jar so that the sugar starts absorbing the juice from the fruit. Don’t over-stir—we just want the sugar to touch all the pulp.

Step 7: Refrigerate and Wait

Seal the jar tightly and place it in the fridge. Let it sit for about 10 days. During this time, the sugar will slowly dissolve and fully blend with the fruit, creating a smooth, flavorful base. This step requires patience, but it’s worth it for a rich, natural taste.

Step 8: Stir Before Serving

Whenever we want a drink, take the jar out and stir it with a spoon. This ensures the sweetness and juice are evenly mixed before scooping. Each scoop will now have the perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness.

Step 9: Prepare the Drink

Scoop one to two tablespoons of the fruit-sugar mixture into a glass. Pour in about 200 ml of warm water and stir gently. The result is a tangy, lightly sweet drink that’s perfect for refreshing our body and mind.

Step 10: Enjoy the Moment

Sit back, play some music, or read a magazine while enjoying the drink. The combination of sweetness and tanginess is soothing and uplifting. Adjust sugar to taste if needed, and savor every sip.
